angel
Sometimes I get emergency calls.
When I arrived I saw a fellow angel with all his wings shredded.
He had symptoms of violent abuse.
'What's happened?'
'Boss sent me to one of the churches. Church is a place where humans make others do things.'
'Yeah, I know. Humans are funny.'
'FUNNY?!!! Is this funny to you?!' he showed me a stump of his former wing. 'All I got to do was a simple message: It's your business what you are doing to the others, but do not tell this is what the Boss wants.'
Poor guy.
He has clearly never been to church before.
I knew the answer but I asked anyway
'Did they listen?'
He gave me the look Lucy would be proud of.
His voice started to tremble.
'They told me that first of all I can't appear like that and say anything without confirming this with authorities. If I were a real angel I'd knew the rules. Secondly angels are spiritual beings so they could never pluck me...then they started proving their point.'
He broke in tears.
I knew where the story was going but sometimes speaking out is the only way to deal with the church experience.
'Thirdly, those sadistic creatures quoted the Manual: the real angel covers his face with two of his wings...see?! Try to cover your face with those!'
Logic is cruel.
'Then they said I should be grateful for helping me, they saved me from the hell. My sin: I was pretending an angel and tried to deceive them! They told me all they had done was the act of love! I escaped terrified their love reaches deeper!'
Knowing Boss, he will try to send somebody else, but it will be a problem to find a volunteer if someone sees this poor one.
